Metro Lutheran Ministry was among 10 area organizations that participated in a prototype Job Readiness Fair May 29 at the Gregg/Klice Community Center in Kansas City.

The intense, one-day program focused on everything from job search tactics to mock interviews and financing for 60 participants who ranged from single mothers to veterans.

All met criteria ranging from homelessness to being unemployed for at least 24 months.

MLM Associate Stephen Barbee held the audience spellbound with his own story of overcoming personal mistakes. He and Learning to Earning Manager Jacob Bosch were also among the organization representatives who led breakout workshops on specific job readiness skills.
