Metro Lutheran Ministry is holding its annual Feed the Hungry Food Challenge and this year support is needed more than ever.
Each year, MLM has taken a huge step to fight hunger in Greater Kansas City through its annual Food Challenge. For 17 years, a national foundation helped organizations like MLM across the country by leveraging contributions with additional support.
Last year, the foundation suspended its efforts in order to concentrate on other priorities. Unfortunately, hunger continues throughout area.

Feed the Hungry
In fact MLM staff and volunteers daily see that nearly half of those who seek help from food pantries are children, including infants and toddlers. Others include older adults and those with disabilities. Other MLM clients include those who have worked all their lives, often at several jobs at a time. Now, health or aging have left them unable to work and they often struggle for their meals. Their needs will not go away either.
The generosity of MLM supporters has helped raise money to sustain food pantries and home deliveries in Kansas and Missouri. It remains important that supporters help keep food available to the most needy in metropolitan Kansas City. The drive continues through April 30.
