MLM’s Minor Home Repair Team provides in-depth services to help low-income seniors and the disabled live safely in their own homes and maintain their independence. Kansas City’s Midtown area has a high density of older adults on fixed incomes who are in need of help so they can remain in their home and avoid moving to a Medicaid nursing home. In addition, wheelchair ramps have been prioritized for clients. Examples of other repairs include: installation of doorbells, safety lights, locks, railings, grab bars, window AC units; repair of broken steps, smoke detectors, siding, doors, floors, bathroom fixtures and railings; rebuilding of retaining walls, dry wall and storage doors; removal of brush/basement debris; painting of house exteriors and staining of decks and stairs. The Minor Home Repair Team meets each Tuesday morning to discuss the week and current/upcoming projects. They devote countless hours to serving our Kansas City community.
Do you have a skill or trade? Our MHR team can always use additional skilled individuals willing to work on homes that are in need of upkeep and betterment. We can also get you in touch with a current MHR team member to discuss what they do, and how they do it!
