MLM Lecture Series

Friday, February 10, 2012 from 7:30-9:30 pm at Atonement Lutheran Church (9948 Metcalf, Overland Park KS).  MLM is pleased to bring award winning author of The Relunctant Pilgrim Enuma Okoro to Kansas City.  This speaking engagement is free and open to all. More Information.

MLM Children's Foursquare

Sunday, February 26, 2012 from 2 pm (check-in) and play from 2:30 to 5:30 pm at Lutheran High School (12411 Wornall Road, Kansas City MO).  Food, Fellowship and service activities provided between matches for elementary school Sunday School groups across the Kansas City area.  Children will get to know each other as well as about the needs in our community and have fun playing Foursquare! MLM 3B(Basketball, BBQ and Boulevard)

Friday, March 23 from 7 pm to 11 pm at Boulevard  Brewing Company (2501 Southwest Boulevard, Kansas City MO 64108).  Come enjoy basketball, barbeque and lots of friends and fun at Boulevard Brewing Company all to benefit Metro Lutheran Ministry.

MLM Spring Fling

Saturday March 24, 2012 from 8 am to noon at Bethany Lutheran Church (9101 Lamar, Overland Park KS).  Spring Fling is a carnival-like event with games, crafts, a pancake breakfast, silent auction items and clowns.  All net proceeds benefit the MLM Christmas Store.

MLM Middle School Dodgeball

Saturday, April 21, 2012 from 5 pm to 9:30 pm at Parkville Athletic Complex (6014 N 9 Hwy, Parkville MO  64152).  Food, fellowship and other activities provided between matches for middle school church youth groups across the Kansas City area.  Youth will get to know each other as well as about the needs in our community and have fun playing dodge ball!

MLM Spring Youth Servant Event

Saturday, April 28, 2012 from 9 am to 12:30 pm starting at Metro Lutheran Ministry, 3031 Holmes in Kansas City, MO.  Church youth groups from across the Kansas City area helping plant several community gardens with Metro Lutheran Ministry's partner organization Ivanhoe Neighborhood Association.  Come plant some gardens for those in need in the midtown Kansas City area!

MLM Heritage Society Luncheon

Thursday, May 3, 2012 11:30 to 1 pm at First Watch, 1112 Shawnee Mission Parkway, Shawnee Mission KS.  Members of Metro Lutheran Ministry's Heritage Society are invited to a luncheon to celebrate their involvement with MLM and receive an update on MLM's ministries.

MLM Spring Congregational Servant Event

Saturday, May 5, 2012 8 am to 4 pm starting at Metro Lutheran Ministry, 3031 Holmes in Kansas City, MO.  The MLM Congregational Servant Event is a multi-congregational Thrivent-sponsored “servant day”.   Teams from each church will work on minor home repair projects for elderly, disadvantaged, individuals.

MLM Trivia Bowl Hosted by “Friends” of MLM

Friday, September 14, 2012 from 7 pm to 10 pm at ________________________.  Come show your trivia knowledge by competing with your friends against other church groups while raising money to support MLM and its ministry to the needy in Kansas City.

Lutheran Services Golf Benefit

Friday, September 28, 2012 starting at noon at Painted Hills Golf Course (7101 Parallel Parkway, Kansas City, KS  66112).  Come join us for this fun golf event that benefits your three favorite Lutheran not-for-profit agencies, Hollis Renewal Center, Lutheran Urban Mission Agency and Metro Lutheran Ministry.

MLM Fall Youth Servant Event

Saturday, October 6, 2012 from 9 am to 3 pm starting at Metro Lutheran Ministry, 3031 Holmes in Kansas City, MO.  Church youth groups from across the Kansas City area will be performing tasks such as yard clean up and exterior painting (first floor only).  There may possibly be some interior painting as needed.  MLM plans all of the coordination of the event and MLM Leaders are readily available for questions and such.

MLM Christmas Store Application taking

Monday October 15-Saturday October 20, 2012 at St Marks Lutheran Church (3800 Troost Kansas City MO).  MLM serves over 1,000 needy families through the MLM Christmas Store.  Each family must have their application taken to determine if they meet low income guidelines and are not helped by any other Christmas Store.  Shifts are available at various times and all training is provided.  We really need your help!

MLM Midnight Volleyball

Friday October 26, 2012 10 pm to Saturday, October 27, 2012 at 4 am at the Parkville Athletic Complex (6014 N 9 Hwy, Parkville MO  64152).  This is an all night volleyball event at the Parkville Athletic Complex open to all youth church groups.

MLM “Power of Each One” (Fundraiser)

Saturday, November 3, 2012 starting at 6 pm at ____________________________.  Come join us for the fun, fellowship event that raises needed funds for MLM’s mission and ministry.  Evening includes a delicious catered dinner and entertainment under the stars at Starlight Theatre.

MLM Thanksgiving Basket Packing

Saturday November 17, 2012 9 am to 11 am at Metro Lutheran Ministry 3031 Holmes, Kansas City MO. Help MLM pack Thanksgiving Day baskets for needy families.

MLM Christmas Store

Saturday, December 1 through Saturday, December 8, 2012 at Immanuel Lutheran Church, 1700 Westport Road, Kansas City MO.  The MLM Christmas Store helps 1,000 needy families (about 3,000 individuals) have a merrier Christmas.  Each family member receives a donated gift and the whole family receives a blanket, food vouchers, a Bible, and other gifts for the entire family.  We need many “Christmas Store elves” to make the Christmas Store possible!
