Sack Lunches

MLM distributes over 750 sack lunches a MONTH to folks who need some nutrition to get them through the day. That is over 10,000 a year!

Who receives a sack lunch?

  • Participants in our employment services programming
  • Folks employed in the neighborhood who work minimum wage jobs
  • Guests and walk-ins needing emergency assistance

A sack lunch packing party can be done pretty much anywhere, any number can participate, and any amount of sack lunches will be accepted. We can walk you through the process, and/or come to you and help facilitate. This is a great thing to do with any age group, and can involve participation from small groups to a crowd.

How does a sack lunch packing party work?

Volunteers hold a collection for the items needed, assemble the lunch sacks with the items collected (with the option of drawing on the lunch sack or including a note/card of encouragement) and then deliver them to MLM. If you can’t deliver them, we are happy to arrange for pick-up!
